Daddy Day Care
S o I have been at home with Kaitlyn for the past two weeks while Emily ventured back to work. Overall the experience was very interesting. We did learn a few things. First of all I discovered the phone or door bell will always ring right when she falls asleep. The people on the other end of the phone wished the hadn't called. As for the door bell I noticed Emily sister Jenny an experienced mother of three puts a note on her door bell which says babies are sleeping. I decided to try this and with in 4 hours the Clark man knocked on the door. It was nice that he knocked but I have a cute dog named Sadie who becomes overly excited by the ring of a door bell, a knock on the door or even a car door closing outside. So she barks and Kaitlyn wakes up. The Clark man did not get me to sign up for overpriced pest control since my parent were not home! :) The next problem is my own. You know those certain spot of the floor that you step on and they make a creaking noise? Yes anyone in a two story house knows about these. They happened to build my house during a few rainy months so I have a few more than I would like. I have learned where all those spots are in the house and have become very good at avoiding them. I have been very tempted to pull up the carpet and use screws to fix them but I have not reached the point yet. Close though. Oddly enough we have the most trouble spot in her room. Kaitlyn was very good for me during all this and overall we didn't have any major problems. My second Thursday was the most difficult day. Kaitlyn for some reason did not want to sleep no matter what I did. The typically tricks I used to make her sleep were not working. On top of that everything else that could go wrong did. When I finally did get her asleep the phone rang. Later the TV remote stopped working, the DVR froze and worse of all the dishwasher door latch broke and I was unable to open the door. Not a big deal most of the time but when almost all her bottles are in the dishwasher and you can't get to them it makes things a little difficult. She stayed stubborn for the whole day. That night we couldn't get her to be until almost 11. The next day she slept in and took a long morning nap to make up for it. Next week Mom and Dad are both back to working full time and Auntie Jenny will be taking care of Kaitlyn. Jenny will have her hands full with her 1 year old twin Sydney and Lucas, 6 year old Austin.

Three Months Old
K aitlyn passed the three month mark. This so far has been a busy month, she took her first swim and went on her first vacation. We visited Grandma and Grandpa Sawin and floated around in the pool. Kaitlyn loved it. For her first vacation we took her to the beach, but not any ordinary beach we found the deadliest beach on the California Coast. We spent 4 days in Sea Ranch with the Sawin family. During the vacation Kaitlyn was forced to have a bottle more often which we quickly discovered to be a problem. She was not a fan, it had to be the right temperature for her to even consider. Due to all the company Kaitlyn didn't get as many naps as she would like. When she is tired she is cranky and when she is hungry she is cranky. Those two were pretty obvious what we didn't know was never let her get hungry and tired together. She doesn't like to eat when she is tired so that makes for an interesting situation. For the past two weeks Dad has been home alone taking care of Kaitlyn while Mom went back to work. After her vacation with the bottles Dad decided he didn't like those bottles so he bought all new bottles for his little girl. Mom and Dad are both back to working full time and Auntie Jenny will be taking care of Kaitlyn. Jenny will have her hands full with her 1 year old twin Sydney and Lucas, 6 year old Austin.
